Building Behavior Reduction Targets
The Program Management function on Welina Web allows users
to create and customize Behavior Reduction targets for their clients. Targets created
here will appear in the Welina App for users to view collected data on
behaviors.
Creating a Behavior Reduction Program
Navigate
to

from the left side menu.
Within this page, Skill Acquisition, Behavior Reduction, and
client-specific ABC Data sheets can be viewed.
Click

Use

at the top of the webpage to create a
target for a specific client or toggle to the Organization Library at the top right of the webpage to create a target that can be used by your entire organization.

a new behavior reduction target
A new
window will pop up within the Program Management page:
Complete the following required
fields and any optional fields in the “Treatment Information” tab of the
Behavior Reduction Target.
- Treatment Area: For
treatment reporting purposes and helps organize and tell funders which area is being addressed
(e.g. Maladaptive Behaviors, Barrier Behaviors, Behavior Reduction, Safety,
etc).
- Baseline: Optional and can
be added to Treatment Reports. Add the client’s current baseline
levels of the behavior being targeted.
- Objective: Add the proposed goal for
reducing the behavior as written in the Treatment Plan
Click “Next” in the bottom right
of the window when all information has been entered. A new window will appear
for behavior-specific information to be entered:
Complete the following required
fields and any optional fields in the “Behavior” tab of the Behavior Reduction
Target:
- Phase: Select from the drop-down menu to
choose the Phase of the target:
- Open: Interventions are actively being
implemented to address and reduce the behavior
- Maintenance: Behavior has been
reduced to desired level is being monitored over time to ensure level remains
at the desired level
- Generalization: Behavior has been
reduced to desired level in at least one setting (e.g. clinic) and is being addressed
and monitored in additional settings (e.g. home)
- Completed: Behavior has been reduced
to desired level in all relevant settings and has remained at desired level for
a specified amount of time. The behavior has been determined to no longer
require intervention or ongoing monitoring.
- Behavior Name: Behavior being tracked
(e.g. Eloping, SIB, etc)
- Measurement Tool: Use the drop-down menu
to select the data measurement type for the behavior:
- Frequency: How many times the behavior
occurs
- Duration: How long the behavior occurs
- Interval: Whole, Partial, Momentary Time
Sampling. If selecting to use Interval recording, specifications
for intervals can be entered at the bottom of the page (see part 7)
- Operational Definition: the operational definition for the behavior can be outlined here. This can included examples and non-examples, as well as onset and off-set criteria.
- Tags: These are used to help with search
and filtering when reviewing a client’s program library. Tags can also be used
to help categorize targets.
- Add Files: Upload the client’s Behavior
Support Plan (e.g. antecedent strategies, response strategies, teaching
replacement behaviors, etc) here. App users can view this document in the
Welina app when viewing the associated behavior reduction target.
7. If
“Interval” is selected as the measurement tool, specifications can be entered
at the bottom of the page under “Tags”
- Start Type: Use the drop down menu to
select one of two options:
- Lesson Start: interval timer will begin
when user starts lesson in the Welina App
- Manual: interval timer will begin when
user navigates to the behavior target during a currently running session and
manually selects to start the timer
- Interval Length: desired duration of the
interval
- Number of Intervals: desired number of
intervals to collect data for (optional)
- Interval Data Collection Type: Use the
drop down menu to select one of three options:
- Whole Interval: does the behavior occur
for the entire duration of the specified interval
- Partial Interval: does the behavior occur
at any point within the duration of the specified interval
- Momentary Time Sampling: does the
behavior occur at the start of the specified interval
8. Click

9. After
Saving, the newly created Behavior Target can be viewed in the library it was
created within (e.g. Organization or a specific client):
10. As
with Skill Acquisition programs, behavior targets can be shared between client
and organization libraries.
