Aloha Data Collection App - Supported Device Requirements and OS Versions

At Aloha DC, our top priority is helping you collect accurate, reliable data—every time, with no interruptions.

We know your sessions move quickly, and every moment with a client matters. That’s why Aloha DC is built to perform at its best on modern, up-to-date devices that can keep pace with the demands of real-time clinical work. Our device requirements are about making sure your technology supports you not the other way around. This guide explains which devices Aloha DC currently supports, what specifications ensure the best performance, and what to expect from future device updates

Supported Devices

Android

  • OS Versions: Android 14 (Upside Down Cake) and above

  • Minimum RAM: 4 GB

  • Recommended RAM: 6 GB or more

Why this matters:
Newer versions of Android introduced major improvements in performance, speed, and memory handling. This means fewer app crashes, faster screen transitions, and longer battery life—so you can stay focused on clients, not tech hiccups.

What you’ll notice:

  • Faster app launch and smoother navigation between screens

  • Fewer “App Not Responding” messages or freezes during sessions

  • Better background syncing and notifications

  • Improved battery efficiency for long clinical days

Apple iOS

  • OS Versions: iOS 17 and above

  • Minimum RAM: 4 GB

  • Recommended RAM: 6 GB or more

Why this matters:
With iOS 17+, Apple introduced major system-level upgrades that improve speed, responsiveness, and stability—especially for apps handling large amounts of data like Aloha DC. You’ll experience smoother workflows and less downtime when documenting or syncing.

What you’ll notice:

  • Sessions, notes, and client data load more quickly

  • Background syncing stays consistent while multitasking

  • Lag and freezing are significantly reduced

  • A more fluid, reliable overall app experience

Why We Recommend 6 GB RAM (or More)

When you’re running sessions, collecting data, and recording notes all at once, your device works hard behind the scenes to keep everything moving.

Devices with 6 GB RAM or more give Aloha DC enough memory to keep multiple screens and datasets open simultaneously—without reloading or lagging.

That extra memory means:

  • Your session data stays open even when switching between apps

  • Video, media, and documentation tools can run side-by-side

  • Fewer delays and smoother transitions throughout your workflow

In short: higher memory = greater reliability and less waiting.

🔒 App Store Availability

To protect your experience, Aloha DC is only visible in the App Store or Play Store on devices that meet our minimum system requirements (Android 14+ or iOS 17+).

This ensures that every clinician using Aloha DC has access to the same secure, high-performance environment—and prevents accidental installs on unsupported devices that could lead to crashes or data errors.

If you don’t see Aloha DC in your app store, it likely means your device doesn’t meet these requirements.

In Short

Alert
Aloha DC’s device and OS requirements are designed with one purpose: to protect the integrity of your clinical data and the quality of your sessions.

Device Compatibility FAQ

Q: Can I still use Aloha DC on an older device?
A: Unfortunately, no. Older operating systems can’t guarantee the level of speed, stability, or security required for Aloha DC's real-time data collection features.

Q: What happens if my device doesn’t meet the minimum specs?
A: If your device doesn’t meet the requirements, Aloha DC simply won’t appear in your App Store or Play Store. This prevents accidental installs and protects your data from instability issues.

Q: Does more RAM really make a difference?
A: Yes! Devices with 6 GB RAM or more perform significantly better—faster screen transitions, smoother data entry, and fewer background reloads or crashes.

Q: Will these requirements change in the future?
A: Possibly. As Android and iOS evolve, we periodically review supported versions to ensure Aloha DC stays secure, stable, and aligned with current clinical needs. We will communicate any future changes to our users.
