How to Take Screenshots and Video Recording
When seeking assistance from you CSM or our support team, it is incredibly helpful to provide screenshots or recordings of the issue as it is occurring. Please use the following steps to take a screenshot or record your screen to send along with your questions.
Windows
Screenshot
Press Windows Key + Shift + S.
This allows you to drag a box around the area you want to capture,
including free-form, rectangle, window, or full-screen modes.
Alternatively open the
Snipping Tool in your programs

Screen Recording
Press Windows Key + Shift + R
Click "New" and drag
to select the area.
Click "Start".
Click the red "Stop"
button to finish.
Notes:
Audio
:
Enable system audio or microphone in the capture widget before recording.
Storage
:
Recordings are generally saved in the "Videos > Captures"
folder.
Make sure you save your screenshots and recordings once they are generated by clicking the Save icon.
Mac

- Press and then release
these three keys together: Shift, Command, and 3.
- If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your
screen, click it to edit the screenshot. Or wait for the screenshot to save to
your desktop.

- Press and then release these three keys
together: Shift, Command, and 4. The pointer turns into a crosshair

- To select the area of the screen to capture,
click and hold your mouse or trackpad button while dragging the crosshair. Then
take any of these actions:
- To
take the screenshot, release the mouse or trackpad button.
- To
cancel the screenshot, press the Esc (Escape) key.
- To
move the area you selected without changing its size, press and hold Space bar
while dragging.

Use the Screenshot app
(Requires macOS Mojave 10.14 or later)
- Open the Screenshot app by pressing these three keys
together: Shift, Command, and 5.
- You should see an onscreen toolbar with controls for
capturing a still image of your screen, followed by controls for recording
a video of the screen:
- Record Entire Screen

- Record Selected Window

- Record Selected Portion. You can adjust the selected portion
by dragging its borders with your mouse or trackpad.

3. Before starting your
recording, you can click Options in the toolbar to change the recording
settings:
- To record your voice or other audio with the screen
recording, choose a microphone.
- To show a black circle around your pointer when you click,
choose Show Mouse Clicks.
- To set a recording timer, choose the number of seconds to
wait before recording begins after you click Record.
- To change where the recording will be saved after you stop
recording, choose a different “Save to” location. By default, recordings are
saved to your desktop.
- To change the capture format on supported Mac models using
macOS Tahoe 26 or later, choose SDR (Most Compatible) to capture in standard
dynamic range using the H.264 video format. Or choose HDR to capture in high
dynamic range using the HEVC video format.
4. To cancel making a recording, press the Esc (Escape) key
before you click Record.
5. To start recording, click the Record button in the
Screenshot toolbar. Or if recording a selected window, click the window that
you want to record.
6. To stop recording, click the Stop button in the
menu bar, or press Command-Control-Esc (Escape).
7. When you see a thumbnail of the recording in the corner of
your screen, click it to edit the recording. Or wait for the recording to save
to your desktop.
