Geotagging in the Aloha Data Collection App
Aloha Data Collection is excited to share its new Geotagging feature!
Note: Currently, the geotagging in Aloha Data Collection
serves for internal auditing and documentation purposes only. Geotagged
locations will be displayed when viewing Lesson Notes on the Web and on the
App. However, geotagged locations do not display on exported PDF Lesson Notes
that will be shared to payors in the case of an audit.
Geo-Tagging is not required to be on to use the Aloha Data Collection App
How do I enable it?
After updating your App, you will receive the following pop-up in your App upon logging back in:
Select your preference for how location will be tracked. You
may receive specific direction from your supervisor on which selection to make
here.
How it works:
When a user starts a lesson in the App, the App will record both the start time and the location from which the session was started (e.g. a client’s home or school, or a clinic/community location).
When a user completes a lesson in the App, the App will record both the end time and the location from which the session was completed.
These locations will be displayed when viewing Lesson Notes on the App and on the Web
Geotagged locations for both the start and end of the session will be viewable in the App at the bottom of the Lesson Note
Geotagged locations for both the start and end of the session will be viewable on the Web in the top portion of the Lesson Note
How do I disable it?
If you wish to disable or adjust this feature:
- Navigate to your device’s internal settings
- Search “Location services”
- Select the App “Welina Data Collection”
- Make desired adjustments to the location settings for the Aloha Data Collection App.

FAQs
Is using this feature required for App functionality?
Session execution via the app will not be impacted if
location services have been turned off. Based on organizational practices and
policies, staff may be asked to enable this feature on their device used for
running client sessions.
Will this feature serve to meet payor requirements for
EVV or other compliance standards?
No. At this time, the Geotagging feature is designed for
internal use only. Geotagged locations will not appear on Exported Lesson Notes
that are shared to payors, so cannot be used if a geotagged location is a payor requirement. If a payor has EVV requirements, please reach out to support@alohaaba.com to assist with
setting this up!
